Herbal Tea Mixes for the Mother to Be

As ALWAYS  the use of any herb should be done under the advice of your care giver, this is for educational purpose only.

Pregnancy Tea
Drinking 2-3 cups per day of the following herbal mixtures may add a good start to the expactant mothers health troughout the pregnancy.  It may help lessen bleeding during birth and pain.  These herbs provide some of the needed vitamins and minerals that are easily absorbed.  This tea helps build a healthy milk supply as well as tone for the uterus.

Red Rasberry Leaf - this contains vitamins A,B, calcium , iron, and is a natural acid neutralizer. Helps tone the uterus.

Nettle - is a blood cleanser and blood builder. It is high in iron. Is good for kidneys and liver and helps build good milk supply.

These herbs can also be added.

Alfalfa - this is high in vitamin K, A, B12 ,D ,and E . This is recomended for building a good milk supply.

Red Clover - This is a blood purifier  that can e added from time to time . It is esp. good if you are having high blood pressure or an accute illness.

Rose Hips - an excellant sorce for vitamin C , boost imune system.

Spearmint - used to aid digestion and can add a nice flavor to the tea mixture.

To Make the Mixture - combine 1 part red rasberry leafs to 1 part nettle.  Add some of the optional herbs if desired.  Measure two small handfulls of the mixed herb in 2 quarts of  boiled water. (putting tea into a strainer or cheese cloth)  Let this step for 4 - 8 hours , strain and refridgerate.  This will keep for 4 days in the fridge.  You may add honey or fruit juice to this for taste.
