Laundry Instructions

You will need a diaper pail and a waterproof pail liner.( we sell the diaper liners )

Diapers/Covers/Wipes/Doublers
Place ALL diapers in your pail: (Soiled and wet) Covers and cloth wipes. Breast fed babies will have a less solid BM, which can be swished clean in the toliet. After your child begins to eat solids , the BM's will be more solid also, then you can just dump that into the toliet. (you still may have a few that need swishing) You could also use toilet paper and wipe it from the diaper. . You really do NOT need to rinse out the diapers or soak them in a "wet" diaper pail. (that could be hazardous to a toddler). * Some prefer to swish clean, but washers are capable to cleaning them without the toliet swishing.

* Dont's *
-NO bleach NO color safe beach NO oxygen detergent NO OxyClean, etc.
-NO fabric softeners NO Dreft detergent (contains fabric softeners)
-NO orange based cleaners NO fabric softener dryer sheets
-NO Castile laundry soap, such as Dr. Bronner's, these leave a residue on the diapers.
-Don't use the manufacturer's recommended amount of soap~use ¼ that amount. Why? ~Because diapers, wipes etc. hold their smells if the detergent is not rinsed out of them thoroughly. It requires more rinses and money to wash out a lot of detergent.

* Do's *
-Use only regular laundry detergent, such as Purex, Gain, Sensi-Clean.
-READ labels on all detergents; they should contain no whitening agents, oxygen cleaners (hydrogen peroxide), bleach, fabric softeners. **A truly residue free detergent is Sensi-Clean. It is increasingly becoming a popular choice for cloth diaper washing. You can get it from www.atsko.com/sensiclean.html
-Wash every other day or everyday if you prefer, depending on the number of diapers you have. 24 to 36 diapers will allow you to wash every other day or every 2 days. You can throw the runny poo diapers directly into the washer since the washer pipes are connected to the sewer line just as your toilet and shower is. If the poo is more solid you should wipe the poop from the inside of diaper with some toilet paper and toss into the toilet, then you can throw the diaper into the washer with the rest of the diapers. Fold back the sticky tabs on the fleece diapers.

1) COLD SOAK in washer 15 minutes--NO detergent.
2) COLD WASH, highest water level, USE ¼ detergent amount (except for Sensi Clean-use 1/2 of the amount).
3) Then HOT wash, highest water level and teeny tiny bit of detergent.
4) Then RINSE in Cold water at least once ---making sure no soap bubbles are present. If so, rinse again until water is free of soap bubbles.
5) Dry on high heat for 60-90 minutes or line dry. If you line dry, first stick in the dryer for 10 minutes, then hang on the line. Optional:

You can add a few drops of tea tree oil (antifungal/antibacterial) to the wash load, especially if you and the baby are having yeast/thrush related problems. White distilled vinegar also works as an antifungal/antibacterial as well---use 2 C of the vinegar.

Covers

You can wash and dry your FuzzyWrap Fleece Covers/Diapers with the rest of the diapers, HOWEVER to prolong the life and look of the fleece we recommend you LINE DRY. This will prevent the minimal pilling of the fleece that can occur.

Bummis Laundry Instructions

Bummis Training Pants can be washed and dried at normal temperatures. Please avoid fabric softners, chlorine bleach and other whiteing agent. * natural and oil based soaps or too much detergent will leave a residue that can cause leaks and retain odors.
Bummis Tote bags (wet bags) can be washed in luke warm water and either hung to dry or on air in the dryer. No fabric softners, chlorine bleach or other whiteing agents. * natural and oil based soaps or too much detergent will leave a residue cause leaks and retain odors.

Alltogether Diapers and Snappi Diapers have the same idea for laundry.  Please make sure you use less soap and more water. Some people with front loaders experience a harder time getting the soap out of the diapers as these use less water to opperate. Try using small loads but setting it for large loads. Use vinegar in the rinse. I add this to the bleach area. Natural soaps tend to leave residue.
